The Bonefish

Last night we went to the Bonefish.   I had never been there before.  I think it is a chain, a distant cousin to the Outback Steak House (they were housed in the same building)  and it was quite good.

We arrived early and they were swamped.  There was going to be an hour wait, but Chris and I sidled up to the bar. Luckily for us, there were two unoccupied bar seats and we were able to settle in.   Chris ordered a raspberry martini and I opted for a pomegranate martini.  I love the taste of pomegranates! It even had a spear with three little frozen grapes as a decoration. Needless to say I ate the grapes.

Chris was driving so when it came time for the second round he just let things coast and I got something called an icicle aphrodisiac.  It was vodka with passion fruit juice and a watermelon icicle.  It was also very tasty!  I quickly followed this with a Georgia peach martini and as I was getting quite wobbly, we got called for our table.

The only problem I had with the restaraunt was that the tables were very close together and it was a little bit loud.  The space is not large and they tried to cram as many tables as they could and it makes it a bit tight.  But they brought us sourdough bread and some olive oil and pesto and we looked over the menu.

They have quite a selection of grilled entrees that allow you to choose various sauces.   Chris got the tilapia with a Mediterranean sauce and I got scallops and shrimp with a mango salsa.  Our dinners came quickly and were very tasty.  I was glad to have been able to go there.

So, the liquor wore off and we headed home.   I had trouble sleeping and I am not sure if the martinis unsettled my stomach but something sure did and I was not feeling up to par today.   I think sometimes the combo of my meds and too much coffee (and maybe the martinis) just caused my stomach to sour.  I am not in too bad shape, just a little icky.

But if you get a chance to go to the Bonefish, do.  It really is a good place to eat.

I’ve never heard of it around here. Did you happen to notice if there were any vegetarian options?

No wonder you couldn’t sleep, after all that EXOTIC type food and drink you had. Pomegranate, passion-fruit, peach, pesto, scallops, shrimp and mango all mixed together.

I think that restaurants have gone too far out with these “designer” menus. Way too complex!

Oh well. It sounds like you had a good time anyway.

It was probably the alcohol that unsettled your tummy…
But glad to hear that you and Chris had a wonderful time out.
Unfortunately, we don’t have that restaurant here : (

Hey, thanks for the music…Robbie Williams

Have a wonderful week, and hope you feel much better tomorrow.

    Blessings,

I have been watching what I eat for over two weeks. The lack of booze is likely going to kill me. Bonefish sounds wonderful right now! A pomegranite martini sounds HEAVENLY!!!
