Heart Shaped Box

And now, a book review…  (Tigeryogi look away!!!!)

I am now reading Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill.  I started it last night and am almost finished with it.  Such a creepy ghost story!  Totally thrilling!

It centers around aging rocker Judas Coyne who appears to have once been a metal head.  He has a rather macabre collection of items and when he gets an email about a ghost that is up for auction, he decides to take part.  What he ends up with is a heart shaped box containing a dead man’s suit.  And that isn’t all.  Apparently the stepfather of one of his previous girlfriends is now haunting his house. The man was a hypnotist in life and can get inside your very head. He also has the rather sinister habit of carrying around a silver razor hanging from a chain. Now Jude can see him sitting in a shaker chair, his eyes blacked out and is he grinning?  Now he is inside Jude’s radio and inside his head and creating quite a stir in the house.  Jude’s girlfriend Georgia refuses to go and now is also fighting for her life. Is there anything that can get rid of an angry ghost?

To find out more you will have to read it.  It is quite a quick read and a little gory in parts. But if you like a solid ghost story and need something to keep you awake at  night, read Heart Shaped Box.

On a side note, Chris is trying to fix the DVD player that I have now destroyed.  He managed to get it turned back on,  but the door won’t shut because I had to pry it open to get a DVD that I had rented out.  I probably should have waited for him and not pried the door open in the first place.  Ah hindsight.

Hope you are having a marvelous Sunday!
