Dumbledore is GAY!,,2196020,00.html

Though she could have made it a little clearer in the book.   How come it is OK to have a gay character in a book or movie, as long as they aren’t in a relationship?    It is OK that Dumbledore is gay because he remained single?  Oh well.

It is kind of cool that she said it.   I think, though, this news is so yesterday.

I need to catch up.

Why is just announcing this now? And I don’t remember, although maybe I’ll have to re-read any indication about his sexuality in the book.

The seventh book made veiled references to his “frienship” with that other wizard in his youth that only another gay man would have picked up on…

I’m not sure why she announced this. Seems like a publicity stunt.

does that make voldemort a closet case?

Well, I think is cool that Albus was gay. Sadly, he lived alone.

Anyways, I don’t think about it as publicity. I mean, who else but gay guys would read Harry Potter? At least, all the guys that I know they read the book, are gay.

    See ya!

Doubtless, there will be an outcry, even though this is fiction, about a gay man being in charge of children. I’ve never understood this “straight community” fixation with all gay men being closet child molesters. I do not know of a gay man who has anything but an abject horror of children. I won’t even have child relatives in the house to visit, never mind to even contemplate having sex with! I want somebody who is old enough to be able to buy drink, have their own sustainable income and probably their own place to live away from their parents.
